Hi,
I just bought a Hama 128MB MMC card and installed it into the phone. The card fits and the phone boots normal.

But if I try to access the memory the Phone tells sth like: 'Memorycard fault' and the phone tryes to format it.

It says: 'Formating complete' and when I have to set the cardname it says: Error, proccess canceled.

So I cant use the card :( :-? can anybody help me? Pease!

Hmm... I haven't experienced that! I bought a 128mb also and everything's normal. I can change the card name and access it immediately. Maybe the MMC is busted... Try to go to the shop and try testing another MMC with the same brand.

i think it has to do with nokia tryin to sell their own MMCs
like the bluetooth incorporated into your 3650 only accepts nokia bluetooth headsets and not SE's perhaps the MMCs supported are only the ones created by nokia

nope... the MMC I bought is not made by nokia. I think other people here also bought MMC's of other brands. They're working fine.

I was formating 3 times befor the card actuarly was formated.
the first 2 times formating was over in a few sec.. that is NOT coorect. Formating of 128MB takes apr. 12-15 minutes..

how did you formated it 3 times, everytime I try to format it it says formation complete but I cant set the name :(

Sometimes the phone detects the card:

Name:
Total: 122 MB
Used: 0 B
Free: 122 MB

but I cant fomrmat it, the menu entry is missing :x

And when I try to set the name: Error, proccess canceled

GRR  :(

I know many people with different brands of MMC cards, they all work, guess your's is faulty, check out the store, replace it! :D

Maybe you have a defective product. Return it to the store and try other brands.

that's why it is important to test the product before actually buying it

How shall I test different MMC cards?
Buy 5 different cards and send them back?

hmm I'll send it back to the store....

But somewere I saw that sometimes the MMC is to slow for the phone, that the phone waits .25 secs to identify the card and some MMC's are too slow...

Can I format the phone with another programm?
Does anybody know such a programm if tthis is true?

I'm using Twinmos MMC... and I think Verbatim works fine also. And I'm not sure about some MMC's being slower than the others. HAven't compared them personally. But I'm satisfied with mine anyway :) Did you order your MMC online? Better go to a computer store and test the MMCs yourself!

When you are formating your MMC,you should wait for 10 min,as mentioned before,if you didnt wait, there will be bugs with your MMC.

I ordered it by amazon -

When should I wait 10seconds?
-Before starting the phone
-After starting the memory-card application
-After starting the formating proccess

?
