Hi everyone,

I am using a 3650 here in Germany. Provider is O2. I am using GPRS from time to time to check my mail utilizing the build in EMail-Client of the 3650. I am using IMAP4 as Email-Protocol.
The last months I always had like 8-9MB of GRPS-Data (send+received) a month. I checked my data-counter on Monday and it said about 5MB for this month. Today I checked the counter again and now it showed 4.06GB of received data. I was shocked...and I don't think that this is possible. You can just calculate the GPRS data/rate of 56KBit/sec but you will never get 4GB of data through the line in just 4 days.
So now I am really wondering what has happened. I asked O2 (my provider) about this. But it's weekend and it seems like nobody can give me any useful information.
So I hope 4GB is not true, cause it would ruin me (at the current GPRS-prices). Has anybody an explanation for this?
I am dying here trying to explain this to myself...anybody help?

Regards,

Hendrik

I have the same "problem"... Mine is showing 8.00GB sent and 12.00GB received.. I'm QUITE sure that this isn't correct, simply bcz I have to pre-pay for my calls.. and,I've never had SO much money on the phone at once.. :) But, I think I know what might be vausing it on mine.. I sometimes use GPRS-dummy connection to connect to pc's internet through BT..that might be confusing the counter... Anybody else with an idea?

So, in the end, I'm quite sure that you can relax.. ;)
Cheers

Hi,

thanks for the reply. This helps me to relax a little bit.
I am not using GPRS Connections over Bluetooth and its just the received data thats so high..the sent data is okay.
Maybe the counting is just very very buggy, cause I think you wll not have received like 20GBs to /from your phone, right.
Maybe nokia should correct this..cause I think a lot of people might get upset, cause of the expected costs related to might be wrong counter.

Thanks,

Hendrik

well,it is not unlikely that you can receive and transmit 20GB of data with your phone.. it just takes LOOOOOOONG time.. :D And most of it would probably be temperary internet files and Catche that stuff that phone is displaying, and so on.. cuz, even though the data is deleted, the counter doesn't count back.. ;)But I've only had this particular phone(I had another 3650 before) for a month,maybe..so,it's surely buggy.. ;)

you should really cut down on the streaming pr0n. Restrict yourself to weekends only or something. :P
