My experience with wildpalm's games is a little bit strange. It seems to me that there is a problem with wildpalm's sound engine used on most of their apps.The most combatible versions of the sound engine is the one that comes with stackup (version 1.2) as well as the one from GoBoy Plus 1.4 (not 1.41). If you want to have sound with Doom you'll need the stackup version, but that way you won't have sound in GoBoy Plus.If you reinstall goboy plus you will loose sound to doom and gain sound to GoBoy but to do the opposite you have to uninstall first the Wildpalm Sound Server and then reinstall stackup. Also notice that Meltdown is more compatible with the stackup version of the sound server, you may notice though that the very first few times the game will exit. The problem to me vanished when I lowered the voice on it. Lastly none of the above is combatible with the version of the sound server that comes with the GoBoy Plus version 1.41...

If anyone has more info, about compatibility (eg. more apps running or not as well as the problems or if he has a different opinion about one of the above apps like being able to run an app while it is listed on the not compatible)it would be very helpful to post it, and I'll make any changes to the main post if it is neccessary.

Also it would be nice if the adm. make this thread sticky...

First of all I have to say that I had 2 problems with my phone - infinnity loop. send it twice to SC for upgrading.
Apps on my sx1, fw6:

1.AppMan (License) - works great until the icon dissapered and get a system error. with this error in my mind, I have triyed to reinstall PowerLock and my phone got the infinnite lope.
2.AutoExec (License) - I had put on the list for auto the following: BlackList and SMSMachine. the problem I had is after I close the phone and still get bouth apps on display asking me for license number . need to close them with the phone closed..:)).
3.BlackList (License) - verry good
4.FSCaller (License) - the usual problems with it : delays the photo and the ringtone.also change the ring tone
5.PowerLock (License) - verry good
6.SmarBirthDay (License) - verry nice, but it doesn't take all the data from contacts. some of them are missing.
7.SmartViewer (License) - verry good
8.SMSMachine (License) - interesting, but even if I answer at the phone, a SMS is sending on destination....strange

9.HandyDates (Trial) - even if I setup the time and day for reminder, if I start to get data from a new contact, the whole setups goes to original setup ( 1 day before, and time 10 a.m.)
10.AggileMessengerSX1- verry good
11.FExplorer - verry good
12.Browser (Trial)- verry good
13.Stacker (Trial) - verry good
14.PowerDictaphone (Trial) - I still don;t understand how I can listen what I have saved ???
15.SmarProfiles (Trial) - so and so. if I set up a new profile for 8 a.m. and I open my phone at 9 a.m. it doesn't take the setup profile . It choose the general one.
16.HandySafe (Trial) - with it (during the installation), I had the first infinnity loop

You need to just have about 2MB free on the phone before installing RealPlayer ver. 4.0 (known as Advanced). Unfortunately you still can't create playlists to play the files (I haven't tested precreated playlists). Also tested the real Audio format and the quality is very good at 64kbps...

There is a way to save messages on MMC. I will post a FAQ soon, as well as update this list (just luck of free time,sorry guys)...

I have seen some Kingmax 256MB MMCs not working with SX1 but working with other devices. That doesn't mean neccesarily that all Kingmax 256MB MMCs are faulty or not compatible with SX1 but rather that there is a big chance of not working and a warning to people who want to buy an MMC. The best they can do is try before they buy.

In other words the hardware list is more like an adviser. For example a BT dongle may not work now but with better drivers in the near future it will.

PQI 256MB also working fine. I think this is cheapest easily available in UK (ebuyer £34.99 + VAT and delivery). Also works fine with the PQI USB 2.0 6 in 1 reader (even though packaging says max 128MB) - £8.99 + VAT and delivery as before.

I have very few online time these days so I couldn't reply immediately.

Regarding your question I must note that on the software compatibility list there is no mention about N-Gage (cracked) games, in case you mean the N-Gage version of FIFA 2004.


In case you don't the FIFA 2004 (as well as almost every athor java Game) can be found/bought either through your opperator (sth like vodafone live!) or directly through the publisher (eg. Gameloft) and most of them that I have tested were actually versions for Nokia 7650.

Chessmaster (from Gameloft) runs well on my SX1.


Avantgo (from iAnywhere Solutions): strictly speaking it runs but the SX1 does not have enough memory to allow a satisfactory user experience.

Avantgo is an "offline browser" (popular in the Palm world). I've tested the Symbian client v5.02. The client cannot be installed on memory cards and needs 1,2MB; when running by the first time it downloads 3 free channels that need additional 800k - on lack of memory it hangs! Considering that the SX1 has only 4MB and the half of it is used by OS and standard applications... no fun.

I bought mine tonight at Frye's Electronics store here in the Chicago area. Cost was
$70 US. I formatted it and restored a backup I had of the 32 meg MMC card that my SX-1 came with. No problems. It works great!

Encouraged by the fact that the 512 megabyte ATP card worked in the SX-1, I am going to return it and order one from ebay in a 1GB format. There are several auctions for 1GB ATP MMC sticks for only $109 plus $10 shipping. I was going to buy from Mobymemory.com, but with the exchange rate to US dollars, plus shipping it would cost me over $200 US.

Here's a link to the auction on ebay for the ATP 1GB cards. No affiliation with the seller, I don't know him or make any money off this deal.

I received my 1GB ATP MMC from the ebay auction I won. Only $109 US for a 1 gig card seemed like a very good deal.

Actually if you have read the FAQ you should have solved the problem.

Anyway, If you have firm prior to 7 upgrade first to ver 7 (or higher but I recommend 7)
Then press and hold the # & * keys while turning on the phone. You'll see a bar. The phone memory will be formated deleting everything and so your phone will be bootable (as well as chargeable) again.

EagleTec 512MB RS-MMC works in my SX1, But only after I changed the MP3 players' "Scan mode" from "Default" to "All".

IF MUSIC ISN'T DETECTED INITIALLY, CHANGE THE SCAN MODE IN THE MP3 PLAYER OPTIONS AS IT THEN DETECTS THE MUSIC ON YOUR CARD.

I recently bought an A-data 1gb mmc together with a Sweex cardreader 16in1 usb2.0. Both work perfectly. No formatting was needed for the mmc. Cardreader installed automatically under windows xp.
