All 3650 phones (every single one, no matter when it left the factory) are based on Symbian OS version 6.1 and Series 60 release 1.2.

You can upgrade the firmware (which is the phone's software in [Flash] ROM) at a Nokia authorized service center to whatever is the latest version of that, but the Symbian OS will still remain at 6.1 and Series 60 at 1.2.

..

I've got a frustrated response from a Nokia authorised sevice center at my place (Malaysia).. Maybe the technician were not aware of that? Hahhaha..
My question are:

1. If I upgrade, will my WAP capabilities will also be upgraded (to WAP 2.0 of course..)
2. Can I save my polyphonic files (backup) it at any way? This because, I've been informed that all the files will be overwrite and cant be restored.. huh....... If i re-download it again, it will cost me musch.. WAP (GPRS) charge in Malaysia quite high.. warghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

V2.50 is your FIRMWARE, Symbian OS 6.1 is the operating system, Series 60 1.2 is the PLATFORM.
The only thing you can upgrade is the frimware and can only be done at an Nokia Service Centre.
You can back-up your ringtones on your Memorycard, so that they will not be deleted. I suggest you back-up everything you dont want to be deleted on your memorycard.
Yout WAP will not be upgraded to 2.0.

I also have V2.50, but i dont need an upgrade. I think this firmware is stable enough. I thought the newest Firmware is V4.16, but i'm not sure about that.

Hmm I ain't too knowledgible with all these but yea I know ringtones and such can be backup'd. Yes and I do agree that the Nokia Technicians in Malaysia aren't too well versed
