Has anyone seen or read anything on an mp3 player for the ngage qd? I have the qd and unfortunately cannot play mp3's or use them as ring tones. :(

before ppl start yelling at me i'm asking the qd owners if they have tried using a sd card because i have 2 256mb cards and i dont want to spend more on a mmc. Anyway for your question i believe there a few 3rd party ones like ultramp3

Yes,there are quite a few third party Series 60 MP3 players but playback will be mono only.The QD doesn't use SD,MMC only.

Do you know, how 3rd party mp3 players work?
I mean the quality on QD.

My friend tried one on N-gage, and he said, that it sucks. I will be buying a qd and really hope it is not true. So I would be glad to hear some experiences with 3rd party mp3 players, if you have.

The N-Gage Classic is stereo and the playback quality with the built in audio player is quite OK.On the other hand the QD is mono,so the playback will be worse when compared to the Classic.

I've searched at Handango for a few MP3 Players, all of them work fine on the N-Gage QD (at least for the trial versions i've tried), so far i personally like MP3 Player for Series 60 by Viking Informatics most because the interface is very simple. I haven't had the chance to try MP3 Gravity yet, but UltraMP3 is a little too err "flowery" for me, i like my players simple but otherwise in terms of sound quality there's not too much difference with the other one i tried. And because the QD is in mono u probably won't be able to tell much difference in quality, but otherwise its pretty ok to listen to if you're not an audiophile, or at least if u're not too demanding an audiophile ;)
