When you opened the PDA for the first time, it should ask you to input your information: First Name, Last name, numbers, addresses... etc

then it should ask you to input your location and current time. If it didn't, then this means that someone else did.

Unless the previous user has formatted the thing that is. What you might try is on the phone side *#92702689# which will give you

Serial number
Date of manufacturing
Date of purchase (thats the one you're looking for) and
Date of the last repair.

when you use the up and down buttons.

All dates in mmyy format. Switch the phone off and on to leave this menu.

Yea but most people dont fill this in!
So make a point of filling it in so no one gets sold an old phone as a new one!

What is wrong with your phone that you may think its 2nd hand?
