View Full Version : Why be in a hurry to buy the 9500 as soon as it is released?

Well... here are a few pointers that you might want to look at.

* First of all, the price would be incredibly high, so you might want to restrain from buying it in the first coming months.

* Secondly 3rd party software companies, wouldn't have released software the same day as the phone comes into the market, it might take a while for them to develop, test software for the phone, 3-4 months or more. As we know nokia's software is quite limited (have seen that in the 9210i and earlier predecessors)

* Third is the most important factor, the phone software/hardware might be containing bugs, faulty circuitry or some connections, so you wouldn't want to be the market's beta tester, in the first few months of the phone's release; as there was the 9210 then the 9210i upgrade.

Here is what I can currently say, the rest is upto everyone himself/herself. :D

Vicky:

Since you want everything in one phone, try buying a palm PC, or a palmtop, PDA thing, with a phone. Motorolla and some other manufacturer's have released those type of devices. 262k color screens, touch screens and god know what, a fast processor, lots of ram and diskspace with WinXP, OS? heh.

My friend watches 3 hours movies on his pda phone, with the colors and touch screen it looks great. They cost very expensive 1200USD+, but I guess since you need so many extra-features, you would need to spend 40-50% more the price of the commy and buy a device which can fulfull your needs, surely the communicator cannot.

Regarding Symbian vs PocketPc no doubt...
If you want a real phone it has to be a symbian.
And if you want to work (and play) with it as well, the comunicator with the 640x200 screen and the QWERTY keyboard is the answer.

Vicky

Right Ismail
This we all are doing from the last couple of weeks. And still we don't know how long have to wait.May our wait come to end this month.

Well you dont have to wait for long now .....
end of this month maxxxx ....

although as i said earlier it is possible that the first set of shipments may run out so fast that by the time you reach the shop all the 9500 pieces are gone ....

but around the world the first set of deliveries should happen by the last week of october latest ....

in the UK the users will have to wait longer as the networks get time to play with the phone, after they are satisfied the company launches it to the general public,

acc to nokia the UK version is QWERTY and the other versions are not .....

although in which countries QWERTY cums is not known to me ..

but UK version has QWERTY and the feature for automatically getting the settings of sms, mms, gprs etc from the service provider soon as you put the sim in .....

Germany, Belgium, they have OTHER keyboards

But you could get a Dutch one, no different keys there, English OS in it as well. You just need to get a UK charger I think...

I read some more bad news on a Dutch website. Their original estimate was week 48, but it was delayed a few weeks according to them(they actually HAVE a 9500 to test, they have pretty tight relations with Nokia).

I hope vineetamar is right though....

Let's hope that Nokia don't disapoint us.

Vicky

Lets Hope that the news would be false and it would launch in this month only.
