The Norwegian nokia distributor "Tcom" will be shipping out the Nokia 6630 to stores next week, making them avaliable for sale the 20th of october. It will probably apear in webshops a few days earlier, but in smal numbers.

Edit: it was Tcom, and not Dangaard who says they have the 6630 by the 20th this month.

I've heared it comes arround 15th of Nov, but it's not official from nokia. Let's hope it does.

I cancelled my current contract with vodafone (singlepoint) last week, got a call from them today (7.11.04) trying to sell me a new contract, told them what I want (6630) and the sales woman said " Oh, in that case won't be able to help you, as there has been software problems with 6630 / Vodafone 3G and she then said that 6630 should be available maybe Jan/Feb time. Does anyone know more about that

Sorry, I'm not so familiar with the UK market. There was at least a joint press release made by VF and Nokia about the 6630. I could imagine that Orange will have it as well (Orange is always close to Nokia), other operators I just would have to guess, which doesn't really help you.
About the 9500 / 9300, I would say that all major operators will have them in their portfolio. This is at least the indication from our European countries.

Austria is in the neighbourhood with my country,but it is not near enough :rolleyes:

Yes this is correct. Vodafone have now cancelled this phone with their stage 1 launch on the 10th. The Nokia 6630 will be released at a later date which they can not specify at this time.

I phoned customer care yesterday and they said the same thing. That they dont have an estimated date on the availability of the handset.
I am hoping though for a sooner release by 3rd party providers, such as carphonewarehouse and phones4u. These 2 generally release phones a month earlier; and they phones are sim-free. At least that was the case with my 6600 about a year ago.

i dont know,what country do you come from.... but if its not a problem to go for a holiday to Dubai and Singapure,than i think,that there will be no problem with the price of a phone.... :rolleyes: :D

In Sweden it's already for sale in (major) retail stores. Although locked and branded to Telia, a price around somewhat over 400 dollars is kindof nice (3000 SEK, 1$ = 7SEK, 3000/7=428). Unlocked and -branded it retails at about 700 USD.

Hi guys, I'm new to this Forum so lemme intro myself. I was born in dubai and I'm a masters student at State University of New York.

I have changed more cell phones then clothes in my life :rolleyes: I look for phones that are packed with features. I'm desperately waiting for Nokia 6630. If you goto http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,60715,00.html#1 it says Nokia 6630 is available in Middle east, Europe and Asia pacific. I dont understand why Nokia posts this information if the phone is so hard to get. For me ill be waiting for the next 500 phone Stock coz those are the ones bug free. The first 500 phones in the market are always have software problems.

If anybody from Dubai, lemme know ASAP if Nokia 6630 is seen in Dubai.

pictures maybe later because i have some problems with connection via cabel,i downloaded new drivers from the net,but nothing changed... maybe i have to buy an bluetooth adapter to solve the problem
its early to talk about likes and dislikes,but whats pretty good on the phone that is:very good construction,good quaity pictures and photos,very fast speed of menu and all of the running processes,shine and bright display,thats all for now :D

finally my pc connection with N6630 is now working :D
working with PC Suite is very fast,everything is working properly.
mp3 playback is very good /ive tried to play an fugees-killing me softly song in 128kbps,the file is 4,31MB,44100Hz/
videos and pictures are very good,if the light conditions are,with internal memory /10MB without RS-MMC/ you can make an 9 minute video /8 minute and maybe 40 seconds/.

It is posible since first model of s60 platform (7650) u can choose between list or grid view but grid is much better... :rolleyes:

hi ;) this is my first smartphone in my life and i can tell you,that its fast enough / i had some phones from 1999:alcatel one touch db+,siemens c35i,siemens c45,Nokia 6610,Samsung SGH-E700/ and now Nokia 6630 :D :D :D
there are som applications on the RS-MMC-quicksheet,quickword,some application for direct printing,and maybe an one another,and thats all/ working with tha card is fast,but firstly it was a little but hard to open the doors of the card slot,but now its goin easier a bit :D

I didn't have much time to "play" with it but since my previous Series60 phone was a 3650 I still have that "woow" painted on my face for all the improvements :)

it's quick, it's little, it's nice :)

we already found some little bugs (i.e. selecting a color palette other than blue... will not change anything, it still is blue :()

since I had to use a motorola phone for the past months, to be able to use Three services now I am back to another, higher, level :)

leave it to me a full week-end and I won't let anything untested :D

First week of December is what one Orange store told me this weel, so that sounds consistent.

But a guy in Orange tech support told me last week, that no 6630 before end of January, though....

Well, ive been into 3 carphone warehouses only to be told the pone don't exist and I must be thinking of the 6230!!

spoke to vodafone customer services who say it will be in their shops from 3rd December, :D no info on price yet though

i ordered mine 19th came next day, from www.livetelecom.com, it also came in the lime green colour, which is very nice and slick, it did also say pre release stock, all i need now is decent memory as i feel 74 is not enough for this phone,should have been at least 20 internal and 128 ext anyone know of any places where i could obtain a 512 rs mmc, im using the jabra 250 bluetooth headset with out any problems and i have got the nokia pd -2 flash which is also kool.

another note t-mobile uk will be releasing this very very soon,it is their first 3g mobile phone, i am using mine on the t-mobile's 3g service, great reception no problems yet,

The 6630 is now available in the netherlands in the Vodafone Online store :)
