No way, except breaking it physically (e.g., drill a hole through the lens, or something like that).

And what about removing the camera option from the menu?

You can't remove the camera option from the menu (the built-in apps are in read-only memory, ROM). And even if you could, would you also prevent users from installing other camera applications?

Why on earth would you buy a camera phone, and then want to disable/remove it ??? :con?

Maybe he likes the look & feel + other functionality (Series 60 & whatnot). Not many phones with such breath of features otherwise, but without a camera.

The only current Symbian phone I can think of is the 9500 (or, to some degree, the N-Gage/N-Gage QD, but they're lacking things like EDGE and newer Symbian/Series 60 features, for example).

It's because I work for a company where cameras and phones with cameras are not allowed. Now I have to risk that they catch me and I will have some serious problems. It's good that the 6681 has the blind at the back side so the camera is not visible.

I just wanted to get sure the camera is not active. But it seems that I will have to live with this.
