Hi there,
Last night my 7month old 7610 randomly came up with the message 'Insert SIM Card'. The phone had been on all the time and I'd just been sending/receiving SMSs fine with it.. Now everytime I turn it on I get the same 'Insert SIM Card' message. The SIM card works fine in other phones but when I try other SIM cards in the 7610 I get the same error... Why would this just randomly happen? Seems Very odd..
As this is a contract phone and only 7 months old I called up Orange and explained the problem, they said they'd replace if for £100!... obviously I wasn't happy with this and they gave me instructions to take it to my local Nokia shop instead. As the phone is only 7months old would it be repaired/replaced free by Nokia? I assume I just need to take proof of purchase to the Nokia shop, such as a delivery reciept or something, in order to prove its under 12months old?
Thanks for your help
Rich
