I don't know how ridiculous this is as a suggestion, but is there any way of sending a fax with the E61?
I realise it'd have to dial the recipient as faxes don't use the internet, but the E61 is of course a phone too so you'd think this would be possible somehow?

I've read about application Mobile Fax (http://www.bitween.com/v2/eng2/mfax.htm) but I guess its not compatible with S60 v3 yet...

Oh boy, that would be so convenient on the E61, hope they convert it to v3 soon.
I don't have a fax machine any more as virtually no one uses it but now and then someone asks for one...

The manual suggests it's possible providing your carrier allows faxes to be sent as text-messages. Just start a new message and choose OPTIONS and then message-type. One can change to fax here.
'3' don't seem to allow faxes through their message-system though from my attempts so far.

My laptop is capable of sending a fax and when configuring fax it recognizes the Nokia E 61 modem. My service provider has also activated the fax capability for my mobile no. However the fax console on the laptop displays 'fatal error' . What is the problem? I thought maybe E 61 needs some additional software. Tried the mobile fax instal given on this site but E 61 displays ' not compatible' . Any ideas anyone as to how to tackle this problem? I am on the move a lot and many times need to send faxes in situations when a phone line is not available.
