Nokia Software Update available for N93

The Nokia N93 (http://www.symbian-freak.com/quides/firmware/logs/n93_new_firmware.htm) has been added and supported for firmware upgrade via the NSU (Nokia Software Updater).

"Nokia Software Updater" its the flashing software which allows you to keep your phone up-to-date, as well as fix a potential operation problems you may have by updating your phone firmware regularly.

The software and update packages are provided by Nokia free of charge and it gives user.. ..

i just did too and works fine too.....just remeber the golden rule..

..backup backup backup....


not noticed anything different straight away...need to spend some more time......


apart from that it was a breeze upgrading.....hopefully they have some more upgrades soon...

How well does the backup work? Will it keep all the software installed on the phone's memory?

And any progress on the multi-button issue?

I installed sms accelerator with the old firmware. It still exists after the update. Do we need it anymore? I think nokia already did something about this. I will uninstall it. any ideas?

Steve - have you any feedback from testing the new firmware ?

Thought it would be interesting as i've had mine updated for 4 weeks now and i still get same problems :-

Phone switches itself off
Memory errors when playing video clips
Phone hangs intermittantly (last time was when playing sre)
Took 6 attempts to get the phone on after it froze and re-seated battery.


There may be more RAM available but there sure as hell the same faults.!

It's been stable here, only one freeze and that might have been me fiddling too much with the camera.... And no, you don't need the SMS patch, but, if it's working, best not to disturb the status quo!

Dunno if this is to do with the fix and it's not a big problem but a couple of times today after recently updating I've noticed that the background on the clamshell display goes all funny. Around the time, battery and signal display it's alright but the rest of it goes black. It's hard to explain.

Hmmm.... haven't seen that, but the camera locked up on me yesterday.... 8-( Seems like there are still gremlins to fix!

I've had the same problem. The coverdisplay would go funny on me from time to time with the previous firmware too tho.
