I asked this question yesterday, “is it possible to use a MINI SD WIFI card in the E62 to access the web?” and was told by a couple of posters that I would not be able to.

I did some research and asked around and I don’t think this is the case. I could be wrong. I have a friend who used to have an HP IPAQ hw6515 and he used a MINI SD WIFI card in his phone to access the internet without having to pay the ridiculous data package charges for Cingular & T-Mobile. He told me that you DO NOT need a SD I/O slot but just any SD slot and you can use the MINI SD WIFI card.

Do you guys out there have any experience with this? What is a good brand for the card and where can I get it? Also, since the E62’s MINI SD slot is under the battery cover, I need a WIFI card that does not stick out of the slot, but sit flush with the slot.

Any suggestions? Help out peoples…

I'm afraid that your friend is wrong. You need an SDIO slot in order to use those wifi cards (check the specs of these cards) and the E62 doesn't have that (check the specs of the E62). The HP hw6515 does have a SDIO slot.

you are right ELP. should have researched some more. the only way to get WIFI capabilities is to get an E61 then?

Or any other wifi phone (N80, N93, E60, E70 and a good few Windows Mobile smartphones). Alternatively, maybe cingular has an unlimited data plan that you could use with your E62 (but then it would only work in the US).
