After about 2 weeks of owning the N73 my joystick just broke in my coat pocket. I dunno how exactly it happened but the joystick broke clean off. I managed to fit it back into its palace but its broken now so i need to go back to the shop where i got the phone to get it exchanged.

Anyone else suffer something similar?

This is a known manufacturing problem. Basically, the glue used to hold the joystick top on isn't very good.

I re-fixed mine with some decent superglue, and haven't had any problems with it since.

Is it just the top or the whole joystick?

And, of course, a Nokia repair/service center should replace such faulty components under warranty.

Are you sure it's the whole thing? If it is, then this is NOT what I was talking about.

The joystick mechanism itself is pretty sturdy - all I've seen is the silver top to the joystick falling off.

Yes, Nokia will replace the joystick under warranty!
