Hi all,
I use Fastmail's IMAP service to get push email on my E61, which normally works great: I set automatic retrieval and it connects to the server via either my home WiFi or the mobile network.

In the past day or so though, the phone has switched automatic retrieval off all by itself. I tried to switch it back on, and got this message:

"'Email notifications' must be disabled to enable header retrieval"

Very odd. Also, where previously the menu options for automatic retrieval were 'Disabled'; 'Always' and 'Always in Home Network', they are now just 'Always enabled' and 'Disabled'.

Connecting to the mail server manually works just fine - it's just automatic retrieval that seems to have become broken.

Any ideas what might have happened? I'm using firmware version 3.0633.09.04 on a generic unbranded unlocked UK E61.

I forgot to mention that this happened a couple of days after upgrading to 3.0633.09.04 - I upgraded straight from version 1.x, and this never happened under that firmware version.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Removing and re-adding the mailbox sorted it. I'm curious to know what caused it though.
