Hy when the communicator boots there are 2 start screens, on the phone out side and the colour one on the inside screen.

Does any1 have an idea of how to change them?

Look at "Custom Right Menu Textures" for some clue to the PDA side.
Here you need the SDK kit to convert the BMP files you wish to use to a EPOC format (.mbm)

The Phone Logo can be change with a M-BUS2 cable and a pc program....

Dont ask where to get that cable
Im looking for one myself, so that i canīt help you with that one.

Anyone ?

It can all be done if you have the propper tools.....As usual /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

But there is most likely some guys outthere willing to help some more ?

Is it possible to see what Linda's "c\apps\startup\startup.ini" keeps inside? with SDK or something??

Thanks

The .ini file may well be a text file in which case you should be able to open it fairly easily... If not try sending the ini file to me for examination (I'd like to see it anyway)

However the way EPOC works is that it usually check the C and D drives before checking the Z drive when looking for a file so try placing an image in

c\data\welcome.jpg
or
d\data\welcome.jpg

An in an unrelated piece if news i think I have found a permanent home for the site with improved facillities that should allow the downloads to be fully restored.

There you may get a MBus cable. Not tried it myself yet.

WoW...Cool...

Only drawback is the, what should I call it?.
Potent Price..
<!-- BBCode Quote Start --><TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font size=-1>Quote</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT SIZE=-1><BLOCKQUOTE>AKTUELLER PREIS DM 78.- / € 39.88</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE><!-- BBCode Quote End -->

Even Bigger WOW.. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

But..One might end up bying the "DLR-2L cable with the one end cut off and a homewelded gizmo attatched.."
So...Nice to know where ..Thanx.

I think it's not possible to change to startup screen of the PDA. the startup.app that's on Z directly points to the startup image. As this app is in rom you can't change it using a hexeditor /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif The only way you can change is in a complete rom-file on a pc. But flashing the 9210 isn't possible without special hardware. So this will be hard. It should have been like the Netbook /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
