I'm thinking of upgrading to the E65 in a couple of months time, but just had a couple of questions...

Active Standby - is it possible to turn this function off? I currently have a Nokia 6680, and it is possible to turn it off, which I have done, as I much prefer using the navi keys with customisable buttons. PLus I don't like the active standby display always on.

Secondly, as I'm also running TomTom software on my 6680, this runs TT5.2 as the phone is ver2.0 Symbian s60.

I presume the E65 is ver3.0 S60? In which case, I'll have to pupgrade to TT6! :mad:

I believe you can turn off the active standby. I can in my E-70.

Alot of the earlier applications don't work with new Symbian ver 3. As I don't use this application, it would be best to check on the compatibility on their website.

Thanks ajeet, the reason i just wanted to check, is that my mate has an N70 and that connot - it seems - have Active Standby turned off!

Will look into getting a copy of TT6 - got TT5 from eBay cheaply :)

Yes, you can turn off the Active Standby feature! This was the first thing I did after taking my e65 out of the box, but I've since turned it back on and gotten used to it... In any case you have the choice of active standby or a 'traditional' display, and each option is fully customisable.

Allows video calling but you just select an image to display to the other side since there's no front-camera.

It is possible to switch it off also on N70. I never used that option until the E70 and on N/A's advice. It takes some time to get used to it, but I find it more and more usefull every day. To switch it off, just go to Settings - Phone - Display - Active standby - Off. It was the same on N79.
