I have had a quick search through the forum but am unable to find out if this device can play MP3 via third party software. Does it have a stereo output?

I am hoping it can, as storing music on the memory card seems the most obvious use for it!!!

Any info would be great....

Yes (http://m-internet.com/products/MP3GoNS60/main.asp)
Dunno about the stereo thingy.

Not much point otherwise - who wants to listed to mp3s in mono??

Surely the handsfree output should be capable of pumping stereo???

What about the price? 45$,you can buy a real mp3 player for that price.
I hope something freeware or cheaper pops up.

You can convert Mp3 to Wav and listen in the phone even like a ringtone, but the quality will be lost.

mp3 is not same as multimedia.

This is silly, what is multimedia, what is sound?
This disucussion does not have a point,Nokia 3650 does not have a built in mp3 player, and i agree with Jyrik, there are lots of things that can be put in the multimedia basket,mp3 is one of them, but sound can be available trough other formats, wav, amr, midi,so they can call the 3650 multimedia phone even if it does not support mp3.

Think we may have strayed a little from my question...

ok, so i gather that the phone can play mulitimedia, be it in whatever format, either by the phone or by third party software, which includes MP3...

My question is:

IS THE PHONE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A STEREO OUTPUT...

As someone above mentioned, it is being labelled as a multimedia phone, and you can expand the memorey (which seems an obvious addition if it is to hold mp3/audio)... but does it produce a stereo output signal??

you can save mp3 to mmc but you need third party software to listen to it
I'm sure It 'll be one one of the first things developers will make for 3650

There already is a MP3 player for 7650/3650.

And it doesnt look good either :(
But I think that much better are coming really soon. :D

and i don't get the chance to choose where to dwnld phone or mmc

In a few? days, there will come an app for PC that will solve that problem.
Just wait for a while. :D
Maybe move some programs to the MMC card... that should help.

......if you havent got a MMC card reader/write for your MMC I suggest you buy one now. Its the easiest way to upload music to your Mp3. They dont cost much either.

Confirm that 3650 support mono MP3 playback, tested on MP3Go ($45) and the new mp3player.

I use HDD-1 headset but still mono output. Please update me if otherwise.

and how did you upload an mp3 file?

26-01-2003, 09:53 AM
Sp there we have it.... it can play in MONO only.....MMmmmmm!!!

IS THERE ARNY POINT???

I know that its not advertised as an MP3 player, but you would think that the inclusion of a memory card might facilitate the use of an MP3 player, however MONO is just pityful!!!

Thanks for all your info.....[/quote]

upload mp3 is easy. Just plug-in the MMC card to the PC card reader for PC. Very fast w/ USB 2.0.

I know how to upload it that way but I tought that you've managed to upload it directly to mmc when it's in the phone
