...and it is really sad: I am going through this painstakingly slow interface and can configure and find everything but the darn sound options! Could some kind soul on here please direct me to how I can turn off the annoying keypad tones, etc.?

*shame* Apparently there are different options for "offline mode" -- as soon as I put my active SIM in and went to the Tools (on my phone it's "Settings") Profile menu there it was. So easy, so sad.

The same Profiles app can be used to change Offline profile/mode settings. First thing I always do is to turn off the keypad tone in all profiles (even if I tend to use only 3: General, Silent and Offline).
