I'm trying to configure outgoing server mail to send mail but I can not configure outgoing port to use 4 digits. My email server uses 1025 smtp port.

I read recently some information about limitation of E61 to use 4 digits configuration port.

Someone can confirm that? Any suggestions ?

Yes it's another dumb bug/limitation. Since I run my own mailserver I set it to use a 3 digit port number.

There has to be a solution??As I have said the only solution is for Nokia to fix it. I can't understand wtf they limit it to 3-digit port numbers, everyone knows that there are ~256^2 possible ports, which works out to ~65000 ports. In both cases storing a 3-digit decimal number or a 5-digit decimal in binary only uses 2 bytes, so Nokia aren't saving any memory by making such an asinine restriction.

The workarounds are:

1) as mentioned before, run your own mailserver

2) use an ssh tunnel to act as a proxy for your mailserver
