After years of using Nokia's superb Communicators I trusted them to take care of their professional clients. Reading the reviews of the E-90 it seems that they changed the staff of their design and development concerning the E-90 for slightly mindless geniuses. Ofcourse it is nice that the machine has fantastic hardware, and yes the 9500 was slow and lacked a few things, but the E-90 seems to be another fancy street phone with the looks of a Communicator. Rude? Well, the communicators used to be able to communicate by phone, mail, sms, and fax. Always like that. The E-90 misses the fax. A hardware matter, not easy to solve, whereas the mindless geniuses on D&D seem to miss the fact that the professional user still needs the fax quite often. The fax will get extinct eventually, that is possible, but not yet. Navigation and radio are brilliant gadgets, but not if one has to trade in core-applications for the hard-core Communicator-users, ofcourse. Then the prima vista comparison between 60 and 80: seems not bad for multimedia, but is it well adapted - an improvement - compared with the 80 - for the Communicator? According to the reviews this is to be doubted. I looked forward to a replacement for my worn 9500, and I am really diosappointed that the E-90 seems to be a Communicator only in looks and name. So I hope the geniuses will do something to set this straight again, at least seeing to it that a fax version will be produced. I hope my 9500 endures until then. Or until another player jumps in this niche.

i know wat u mean. i guess they went to for a bigger market, with s60, since it can be business and multimedia OS. thinking that college and universities students will use it and whom would never use the fax function. i am 16 and i am loving the e90 functions and features so imagine other like me and older then me, makes more sales for nokia and they would just find some alternatives for you guys for sure, a soft SCANR might help about fax. ck it out on nokia or google.

read my other post about fax software.
I had trufax also working on a 2.5G Windows Mobile PDA but it was all dropped on 3G sets. So, i really think its more of 3G compatibility as opposed to just dropping fax functionality.....

I prefer the E90 designed which is S60 simply:
1) Faster
2) Wider software availibility
The two factor alone made S80 unattractive, I remembered why I shifted away form communicator to Windows CE/Mobile due to lack of software and other issues.
Now E90 is closer to perfection in my mobile device.

Why don't you subscribe to eFax, or a similar service? That way, you can send and receive faxes via your e-mail, which has the advantage that it works on your E90 and on any other e-mail capable device or computer, too.
A much more flexible solution, I think.

all that is okay, it still dosent take the basic commands like cntrl + c for copying something form contacts to messaging and stuff like that...quite annoying at times....
they need to treat this s60 v3 as a pro s80 and not just another multimedia os
