ive just updated my phone nokia n73 to the latest version v4.0723.2.1.1 however ive just noticed a problem.

when i recieve a txt the name dosent show up just the number which allways starts +44

any idears on this??

iam gonna try re installing the firmware see if thats a fix. i allready tryed a hard reset but that didnt work.

any1 else incountered this problem?? any1 know a fix??

iam gutted as my phone was ace heard this update might allow 4gb mem ilove music so thought this would be ideal but no names on the txts is a nightmare!!

can i downgrade?? read something about phoneix but couldnt find a link 2 it or much info. would this work??
any info or links would be sooooooooo appreciated i just wanna get my n73 back to normal glory

Firstly - your phones firmware version is v4.0723.2.1.1, this firmware is aimed at Nokia RM132 based phones, this firmware release is for NON 3G phones, whereas, firmware version v4.0723.2.0.1 is for 3G based phones (RM133)
Did you back up and reinstall your phones memory (before flashing) and after you upgraded your firmware?,(back up will include your phonebook)...
Check your phonebook has all your contacts available, if they are not, then only the number can display when you receive calls and texts.
A bit more info needed really to be able to help you more :)

didnt back up but all contacts are saved to sim copyed them back to phone and when someone rings their name comes up
when they text it dosent

i used nemisis to change my code then ran nss to update

ive got version 132installed

iam using o2 sim in a uk n73 handset

i think phoneix might be my only hope

any guides and phoneix downloads???

hey man , i got the the same problem as you and i forgot the backup my phone :o , after i updated the phone, when u receive a text i got +61****** on the text instead of the name MAJOR BUG WITH THIS FIRMWATE :frown: :mad: , i played around with it a bit , the only way to put back to normal is editing all your contacts with + Country code, then THE next time u get a msg from them their name will be be on the sms. Hope this helps
