Hi all - sorry for the length and detail of my first ever post!
I'm the proud owner of a new E90 on Vodafone UK.
Yes I love it, warts and all, and yes I've had a 9300i for the last year or more.
Anyway, this is the issue. I have no connectivity problems with 3G. I cannot however access 3.5G or mobile internet as Vodafone call it.
There is a leaflet in the Vodafone sales package which says that as default,3G broadband is turned off, because accessing it means that voice calls over the normal network will be diverted to voicemail etc.
Not a problem - they then go on to say how to activate it:
tools
settings
connection
packet data
high speed packet access
select 'enabled' (disabled by default)
This gives a warning that "all active connections will be closed - continue?"
Selecting yes kills 3G for a second or two then restarts in normal 3G mode, stating high speed packet access status is still disabled.
I've taken this up with Vodafone who have advised that it should happily activate when there is a HSDPA network available. I've gone to two areas confirmed by them as active (Mill Hill, London NW7 and London, E1) and still get the same problem.
I presume this is a problem on all Vodafone's HSDPA-enabled phones but in any case, can anyone please please please shed some light on this?
Thanks ever so
