I cant tell if its been since i did the prodcut code change and firmware upgrade, but i find my self getting th ee90 out of my pocket, and finding no signal.

im not aware of any phone masts in the area going down, or any odd stuff like that, i think its my phone.

anyone else noticed oddities in reported signal strength?

i find my self occasionally without signal, which is a royal pain in the ass! especially using the bluetooth handsfree in the car...

Install a trial of SmartSignalTest and see when and where this happens.

I have a problem of signal dropout and the device changing from 3g to gprs and sometimes no signal. This is usually when browsing or using data intensive programs. Does anyone else have this?

I've got the latest firmware

Were you on a fixed location or were u moving around? Coz it could be that you went out of the 3G range and back onto the EDGE/GPRS towers/repeaters.

I noticed the signal drop aswell, I noticed it in the car using my bluetooth carkit and my phone in my pocket. I can see on my radio how much signal I have on my phone and most of the time it is NOT maxed out... though with my previous phones (N73 and E61) it was no problem. Could it be that the internal antenna of the E90 is a bit to weak?

IMO the E90 has better antennas than other phones I've had. One example is the E65. So, I don't think it's the antennas. Then again, I could be wrong.

I was static on all occasions, never moving when the signal dropped out. It doesn't do it so much since i switched product codes from euro 1 to euro 4 though my device has faded to black and reset on a couple of occasions for no apparent reason.

In my opinion reception on the E90 is worse than on the N95 standard or 8gb models. I have experience of using all these devices on the T-Mobile Network and don't hit the same speeds nor have the same reliability of connection with the E90 under the same scenarios: i.e. at work surrounded by monitors and computers, in the town centre and at home.

Just in case (if I can say) : isn't your E90 enclosed in a faraday cage? (like the PdAir aluminum case for example)

I never put my phones in cases personally. My e90 is either on the desk or on its own in my pocket
