1. the built in email system works well and i have it set up with gmail.
however, it always disconnects! it will sit connected for a while but then will just disconnect, with what seems like when it feels like it.

i also have tried emoze, but that does not let the mail server know you have looked at the message and you cannot delete messages, along with a dodgy interface.

can i make the email stop disconnecting!?

i have the packet connection set to always be connected. but still!

2. does the 'push email' in the features list even make a difference?

thanks in advance

I can't help you as I'm in the process of dealing with a similar issue.

Although just out of interest, who is your mobile provider?

I'm with Vodaphone and I've just had a long phone call with them which resulted in them having to do some server side poking around to allow my handset to access external e-mail accounts at all!

Yep. Mine's the same. It seems to be a safety feature - if the connection is idle for a length of time. Does the same with a wlan connection. I cannot find any settings to disable or extend the connection idle time ??

im with t-mobile.
i dont know wheather it is the phone or the operator that drops the connection

i would not really expect this when it is advertised as push email?

you can get round it slightly if you tell it to check for emails every 5 mins, instead of the automatic notification one. or emoze is good.

Personally i suspect the carriers....

off topic but do any of you guys get the 3.5g logo on your phone?
