i switched my phone off and i havent got my pin code withme, now its asking for my puk number, is there any way of finding out the puk code from the sim card, or is there some kind of unblock code in the firmware so i can switch my phone on again? thanks, ali

You can only get the PUK code by calling your network operator (service provider, whose SIM card you have). The PIN and PUK codes are SIM card specific, and nothing to do with the phone.

And if you enter the PUK code incorrectly too many times, you will also need a new/replacement SIM card.
