I am on Vodafone and never use the 1800Mhz and wanted to know if it can be configued for 1900Mhz?

NO, it can't be done, not only is the RF circuit slighty different, but I believe the GSM voice codecs for the US GSM1900 band is different to the European one on GSM900/1800.
If you're on Vodafone UK, then you will never use 1900 anyway - in fact it would be down right illegal, as the RX portion of the US GSM1900 band is used in Europe for DECT.

I have a small 8890 and a 6310i both have 1900Mhz and my 9210i is useless in USA, I was hoping their was an attachment to shift the 1800Mhz to 1900Mhz, I don't plan to use it in UK which you can't use even with the other handsets.

The 9290 exists only to serve the US 1900 frequency market. Why Nokia couldn't have made the 9210, 9290 or 9210i tri-band in the first place is beyond me....why market a product called "communicator" without it? After all tri-band has been around for long enough.
