I am having a problem on my 9210 with the gold plated contacts with connect to the serial cable. They look like they have corroded. I had the same problem with my 9110. It sounds strange but I think it has something to do with keeping in a leather case. Has anyone else had this problem, if so please let me have your comments. Thanks..

Yup.
You are not alone. I have the same problem. Had nokia replace it. But that meant that the phone had to sit at a service centre for 2 weeks.
Also, if you do not repair it after a while you will have problems connecting it to the PC.

i used a brass polishing agent to clear and shine it back up on my old 9110. use cuetips/earbuds and applied it in very small amounts and it worked well.
i think moisture does the damage.
