wow... cool!!! The movie is stored on only one flash memory card of 16 MB!!!

Well when can we get a full movie on it? I dont know how the 9210 could ever handle 25 frames a second. It usually starts shitting itself at about 10 frames /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Hmmmmm, I smell something but I don't yet know what it is.

While it would be nice to watch videos ion my 9210 (there's a procedure somewhere about ripping a DVD into a 20Mb Mpeg), if I wanted to play games and watch telly, I'd have bought a PocketPC (in case you didn't know, a PocketPC is a toy that Microsoft sells to challenge Fischer Price's monopoly on the toy market).

I've got shrek at 22Mb (real) and a very hight quality StarWars Episode1 in NIM format at 75Mb (waiting for 128Mb MMC) amongst my collection, so watching movies on the 9210 is very possible and can be quite a nice way to take a long train journey.

Hey Patrick is Shrek good quality at only 22mb? If it is you should post it on your site. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gifCheersIan

Did you use a DVD to create your copy of Shrek? If so, did you take the movie of the DVD and then convert it to Real format as described on your website?

Yeah, it's quite good, the only problem I have with it is it locks up if you try to FastForward or Rewind (well - it looks like it locks up, it may be just taking a LONG time).

As for posting it on my site... emmm, not a good idea - don't want to spend a few years in jail (my e-mail is <!-- BBcode auto-mailto start -->mailtopatrick@n9210.co.ukpatrick@n9210.co.uk</a><!-- BBCode auto-mailto end --> - hint hint).

Yes, it was basically done as per instruction on my website, ripped the DVD to MPEG using DVDx, resized and optimised using VirtualDub and .RM'd by real producer basic.

I'm not sure on the legality of doing this, even if you own the DVD in question - so if you are going to, then it's at your own risk...

Thanks for that. I would say (although don't quote me on this when you end up in jail!!!) that provided you own the DVD, I see no reason that you should not make a copy for backup purposes or personal use.

After all, I use copy CD's in my car incase either the CD gets trashed while going over a bump, my auto changer gets nicked (along with the 10 disks inside) or the heat of the sun does strange things to my plasic discs.

After all, if you took a melted CD back to the shop saying you left it in your car, I bet you dont get a replacement.

Using RealProducer I only managed to get a very slow framerate (slideshow) somewhat of 3.5fps. Do you have a better framerate with you shrek movie?
I've converted the movie Hackerz to a 75mb nim file, It's done with standard converting so it ain't the best quality.
I think it's possible to get a better quality and still get an 100mb file or so.
I'll try it, when I'm very bored /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif))
Spend about 10hours converting last time /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

What a load of shite.... if any of you actually believe that this technology is gonna appear on your communicator then you're bigger muppets than i thought you were. Maybe 2 or 3 communicator generations down the line... just look at the web site its all hype and maybe's lol

Interesting (if somewhat abusive) turn of phrase...... but I think I agree.

Hmmmmm a video of a video at a frame rate thats 10fps slower than quoted... my my that would be worth having....

Especailly as the video shows the regular video player, playing a regular NIM file, at the regular size and framerate.

This guy is very strange, perhaps he's suffering from some strong insecurity complex that compels him to pretend that he's done something amazing, to try and achieve some form of self-worth.

Anyway - if you've seen his new codec working, let us know, until then - avoid sad Belgian wierdos.

Hi,

I was at a symbian-meeting last weekend where this company was demonstrating a movie. I can tell u it is true, and indeed they use the standard nokia videoplayer for it!

Colin,

I think it is meant for nokia to buy this format, not endusers.

Nim supports
10 fps
quallity (user defined, only affects size)
248*186 px

You can get a full movie with good quality (twice as good as normal conversion) on a 128mb mmc. 10fps is stil really fluent, go any lower and it's a pain to see.
