Format Mass Memory to NTFS?

Hi all, has anyone tried to format the Mass Memory to NTFS?
I just wondered if it affected the way any of the data on it would cause errors with the phone.
The reason I ask is I've tried to transfer a large wmv file onto it and I get an error saying 'Disk Is Full' even though it's not, which usually means it won't transfer to FAT 32.

TIA

In Mass Memory mode, you COULD format on your PC as NTFS, however, the S60 OS cannot understand NTFS and would therefore not be able to use the mass memory afterwards,
so it's a pointless exercise - unless you deliberately wanted to hide content from the N97, and only access Mass Memory on PCs.

Personally, I only format Mass Memory (or MicroSD cards) using the Nokia tools built into the handset, to guarantee the best Nokia-compatible file-system is used during the format.

Thanks for that, I do have a 8gb Sandisk flash drive, just wondered if I could use the bigger drive on the phone to move files around.

You cdertainly can use Mass Memory on a PC for anything you want, and the default format (FAT/FAT32) is fine. Microsoft's NTFS file system however will prevent the N97 being able to use Mass Memory.
