PicoDrive for Series 60 Released!

The only two options are start emu and close.You have to select start emu to go to the roms selections screen.

yeah unfortunately i cannot get this far with this build. might again be something to do with S60 v2 and the 6600 :-/

A lot of people have reported that its working on their 6600s.Your problem might be firmware specific.

I just updated the first post of this thread with a new PicoDrive version.There are quite a few improvements like a file browser and saving for your config(keys,screen orientation) but sadly enough,it only works on the 7650 right now.A fix is expected pretty soon.

I'm just wondering if you are gonna put sound in a near future to the pico drive emulator and if you think that n Gage can emulate the sound in stereo? thanx a lot

Ghost dog Thanks for the new release. I want to tell you that this new version of picodrive 973 works in the n gage if you install it in de root c: ;-)

funnily enough the newest build (937) WORKS on my 6600 i installed it to the C drive and my display problem is gone and i can select Roms now. but i can't get key configuration to work :-/ but it's a step in the right direction!

EDIT: ok you CAN reassign the keys, but you get no prompt on screen on how to do this. but the binding order is:

up
down
left
right
a
b
c
start

Hope this helps, so just press 8 then press whatever you want to be the controls

I have just posted build 180.It works when installed on MMC.

Sound might happen,AnotherGuest(the author of PicoDrive S60)is playing with a Z80 ASM EMU,the chip used for sound in many Sega Mega Drive games.

I think it would be great if AnotherGuest would add the sound support as an option as well as option for rendering the screen with anti-alias. If these could be toggled easily, slow-down wouldn't matter (e.g. anti-alias would slow down considerably for normal game play, but when reading text sequences in rpg:s, it wouldn't matter).

Also there is of course the need for the support for save games (either the native save game support or emulator based state-save support).

180 works fine on MMC and the play area is centered vertically, but if I exit via 'c' I can't restart emu without reboot on N-Gage.

By the way Ghosty, not having a go but you are very keen to stamp out illegal N-Gage cracking, phone unlocking, but you have changed the tune a bit on pinching roms off the net to play Megadrive games.
I know you could have the originals,but copying them and even making the emulator is technically copyright violation.

this comment has been replied to by numerous people on page 2 of this thread and really does not require you to repost your original word for word on page 3.

Basically:

N-Gage: platform currently in development, games purchasable with money from purchase going to developer

Mega Drive: 10 year old system. Games only available on ebay and developer gets nothing from their sales. Essentially Abandonware and really i don't see Sega rushing in to obliterate emulation of the megadrive or this particular emulator.

Job,You have to exit the PicoDrive app too which is left running in background after you exit the emulator using the "C" key.
