Lightbulb How to use nGage as an MP3 player

It seems that there are a few pitfalls to using the nGage as an MP3 player. Is there anyone out there who has a tried and tested way of doing it?

Things I'd like to know are:

- how to transfer MP3 files to the MMC card in an nGage friendly way

- how to clear the MMC card

- how to support more than one MMC card

- what MMC product works ok with the MMC

- is 128MB the largest card the nGage can handle

- recommended MP3 resolution 64/128 etc

... and anything else you can think of!

Cheers

Sorry to be getting at you but would ppl

please use the search button BEFORE POSTING!

The amount of times these same questions have been asked and answered is stupid.

Dont let this stop you from posting in the future, just make sure the question isnt already on the forum!

I put this message in after reading loads of stuff and coming to the conclusion that this message was required. I shall find a working setup (if I buy the nGage) and then put my own answers.

The search engine on this thing isn't too helpful either....

"The search term you specified (mp3) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. "

... and putting in "mmmppp333" didn't work either! ;-)

PS No worries mate.

you need to use third party apps to send mp3s, like FExplorer or EFileManager

1. get a mmc card reader, its cheap, fast , and very easy to use

2. do it from within ngage (select Format MMC from Memory options) or u can try manually deleting files from the mmc card reader or thru a great app called Fexplorer

3. ??

4. -specify-

5. No, i use a 256 mb mmc and it works great

6. Recommended, Encode ur MP3s to OGG format. Use a free software like dbpoweramp music converter and encode oggs at 64kbps, 16000Hz and mono. These sound great and are almost half the size of a mp3 with same quality. Use Oggplay to play these files on your Ngage. However, if u still want to use Mp3 then use 48KBps..

48kbps? :p

128kbps will do just fine...
MMC cards up to 1GB files look at the forum sticky with tested memory cards!
