Cool Screen Enlargement Software

Hi does anyone know if their is any software that can increase the screen resolution(zoom) for the N80. I would like to purchase it however I will find it hard to read due to low vision.

Cheers

I wouldn't have thought this was possible without being able to write to the ROM.

It may sound silly but have you increased the font size on the main applications? You may also find it useful to change themes around..the one I use has dark grey text on a sliver background which doesn't make it the easiest of text to read.

The resolution is fixed (as on all LCD displays). It cannot be enlarged either; hard plastic and glass doesn't stretch too well, and even if it could, it wouldn't then fit the case.

At most, it might be possible to change the system font to something bigger, but if apps can't cope with that, things may not always look right.

You can change the screen resolution on an Imate JasJar by changing registry settings....so I wouldn't say it's impossible. Although I realise in this case the chances of being able to do so are zip.

The best bet, is change the theme, for a "clean" theme with black letters.

The physical resolution of an LCD is fixed. So on that device, the registry setting does not change the screen's resolution. It may change how the OS uses the screen (e.g., uses 4 pixels for every 1 to make things look bigger, with less information displayed), but the screen's actual resolution does not change.

hey guys,

My dad has a real problem reading his text messages on the N80. Indeed the font size is so small, you have to bring the phone screen inches from your nose to read 'em!

Ive read through all the discussions relating to the subject with no real solution. Perhaps a theme with clearer text would be nice!

Yes, of course the pysical size doesn't change...that's fairly obvious but for the sake of argument what he is asking for is..at least in theory possible

I wouldn't hold your breath though
