Nope - the USB cable doesn't charge your Nokia N-series phone.

Its the same with the later N series as well - even though they have a standard mini USB port, they won't charge from it ... bizarre.

But that is slightly different though Such adapters have been around for a very long time. I've got the same sort of thing in the car.

Its mildly ridiculous that a device can have a USB connection on it, but not charge via it. It would probably be relatively trivial for Nokia to have designed the N73s pop port connector to allow routing of the +5v line through to the charging circuit.

Its really Idiotic of nokia to do that~~! (But then,Its just one of many Stupidities we have to put up with nokia)

The N73 can be charged on 5V (USB),Nokia have'nt purposely wired it to be so!
(if it did,Who's buying their stpiud USB to 2mm charging cable? )

What I did was buy a cheap 2mm standard charger, and an USB extension cable.
Ripped em both off,and had a USB port on one end,and the standard 2mm plug on the other! VOILA! no crappy diodes etc. required!

N73 *Natively* charges on USB! ha ah! I've been using it that way for 2 yrs and no problems at all!
