Newbie Upgrade To Internet Or Music Edition?

Hi all

Im pretty new but I think its pretty straightforward to upgrade given the fantastic help everyone given by everyone on here!

I'm just wondering whether to upgrade to the Music or Internet Edition? Which is the best at the moment?

I read somewhere that the Internet Edition includes the music editions interface when playing songs(ie graphic equalizer, etc), along with other apps for the internet (ie MSN, MESSENGER, etc?)

Will the updates make the phone faster? Also will my existing TOM TOM software work with the ME or IE? When I restore from memory card backup, this wont also restore my old firmware will it?

I have a normal vodafone N73 at the mo -

v 3.0638.0.0.1
30-10-2006
RM-133
Nokia N73 (34.01)

Any help you can give is much appreciated!!

ME seems to have the latest firmware revision (V 3.0705.1.0.31)

IE has additional net based apps, but these can be downloaded for free anyway. The main difference is that IE retains the function of the Media Button, whereas ME uses it to directly access the Music Player.

The updates will certainly make it a tad more stable. As for speed that all depends on too many variables, but I'd wager it might be a smidgen faster.

Your existing TomTom will still work and restoring your data from a backup will not regress your firmware. It's a completely seperate process.

If you're in the UK, and want the ME, change your product code to 0537289 and then run NSU.

Hope that helped,

Rob.

Cheers Rob for your quick reply!

What are all the extra apps that the internet edition has? I heard MSN but what else? Anything REALLY useful?

Chris

Thanks for that....I need a little help now though if you can!

I updated the phone and then restore my back up and everything looked OK.

Now whenever I go into the settings menu on the phone I get a message "Phone backup/restore in process" and it wont let me get into my settings menu....? Can you help?

Also not all the tracks are being found by the music player....(say roughly half). Do you know exactly which folder the tracks are meant to be in on the memory card and also where the album images go?

Cheers
