Taking the back off N95 - Warranty risk

The rocking button on the side of my phone has been feeling strange over the last week or so and today I was unable to zoom out of any pictures. I could also hear a slight rattling, so I took off the back cover and the top part of the button fell out in front of me. I've only had this replacement phone for a month or so, and while I can cope without having the function, I'm still going to try and take it back.

Just wondering, if I say that I've taken the back off, does this void the warranty in any way?

Let me know what you think because I'm going to take it in tomorrow.

Cheers...

In which case I'm going to leave it. It's a function that I can manage without. Considering the problems I've had with this phone, plus I've only got it for another 7 months means it's probably not worth it.

When you purchased your phone, you also purchased a 1 to 2 year warranty.
Send it (Freepost) to Nokia's national repair centre for FREE warranty repair.

If you plan to sell it (Fleabay?) in 7 months you will get much less if it has any type of fault.

the n95 back just prises off easily - place the button back in and put the back on
send in for repair.

just prised mine off

the buttons are part of the rear cover

buy a new one - genuine ones are around 14 quid

aftermarket ones often 0.99 from hong kong

The top button (up volume) on mine also snapped away internally about 6 months ago, it would seem to be poor soldering between the button and the board.
Luckily i still have the button safe but havent gotten around to taking the phone in for repair as i've not been able to do without the phone all this time! Really ust do so before the warranty runs out!
