New generic i8910 HD firmware up and running

Not bad for a 3.50 download.

Just took 5 minutes to install and it got rid of all that Orange branding, you can even reflash the Orange firmware back over it if you need to.

I'm going to be doing a big comparison review on the main site in the next couple of days... in the meantime, everything you need is available at www.share4gsm.com

PLEASE NOTE:Doing this WILL invalidate your warranty!

Hello Stuclark, scoopex - many thanks for this update. I will not be doing this as I use my handset for professional purposes and wish to keep the warranty intact on my Orange UK handset. Can you report whether any changes have been made on the movie recording mode re: AMR codec?

I'll go through all of that in my review, but quickly.... video recording is still AMR, but the audio sync. even in HD mode, is now pretty spot on! (if you remember, this was an issue with the i8510 and early i8910 firmwares, and I suspect is one reason that Samsung plumped for AMR as the audio codec)

There's many other changes which are very good

@Simba:
get the UK firmware from here, www.share4gsm.com.
I read in another forum that it is the orange one. Worth a try...
see this post: http://samsungi8910omnia.com/forum/o...910-firmwares/

And people please support share4gsm, as without them you wouldn't be unbranded, get your firmwares from them directly,
do not feed the losers re-packaging and trying to make money..

ut.

If I do this to an already unbranded retail handset will it upgrade to the IE6 firmware?
