Good point about the upgrades outside of Ovi hadn't considered that at all but am still paranoid about stability having got the beastie working mostly and am bored rebuilding it

I can only reiterate TurtlePower's comments on stability as I've had no problems at all.

Have it installed on E:. It doesn't use a great deal of RAM either.

I very rarely use the built-in Messaging now.

There's loads of settings to play with as well, if that makes a difference.

I finally purchased this app and it truly is worth it. Its very stable but once in a while i cant back out of a thread and have to kill the app. But that happens very rarely. I use the iphone style and it makes things just so much easier when browsing the web and texting at the same time.

The only thing is there are so many settings to chose i dont know what they all do. I wish there was a tutorial or something.

[quote=ironass;460321]When you see "MMS" dislayed just touch it once and then go to Options and select Open message.

Alternatively, When you see MMS displayed give it a "long" press until the floating menu drops down, select "open message"

I've got a few thousand messages on my N97 all saved to the mass memory. My phone has crashed a few times & always loses the messages so I find myself backing up daily as a safeguard.

I've just come across this app, which seems like a great solution but my question is how does the backup work for the messages with this app? Are the messages still stored to the E: and can therefore still be backed up and restored? Is it easy enough to restore these? (as I'm pretty sure my N97 will probably crash again at some point)

How does the thread actually distinguish when a new thread is started? I have lots of messages specifically from one person so do these all fall under one thread or are they split into new threads for each day etc?

How do you get such detailed info?

I have downloaded taskman to trial it and cannot see how much free mem etc I have?

Perhaps too many night shifts are clouding my brain.

This is a screen shot of my Handy Taskman showing how much free memory I have.

Although, quite what this has to do with Free i-SMS, I don't know.

Go and have a lie down.

has anyone tried this with AdvanceSMS?

in the free version previously, when iSMS was running, custom SMS tones were not played. in essence, it canceled out AdvanceSMS' program
