How to get BBC iplayer working at uni?

I have the latest firmware in my N95.

If I attempt to play any bbc live or on demand stuff (radio) on my N95 at work at a university via wifi, it will NOT play.

If I try via O2, it plays.

If I try it at home on my home wifi network, it plays.

If I use my laptop wirelessly at work, it plays.

So what the hell is stopping my N95 from playing radio broadcasts via the BBC at the Uni where I work?

Some kind of firewall/router issue. I get the same. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it, even within the same network; for example, some of the BBC streams work on my home network, and some don't.

OK, but then why does my laptop work wirelessly at uni with the same sites?

Surely if it was a firewall thing, then it would also stop my laptop playing BBC stuff, but it can without any problems at all.

Maybe what the browser is announcing itself as? Have you tried putting the rtsp urls directly in 'streaming links' in Gallery? Also, you do know you have to go into RealPlayer's settings to change the access point each time you're in a different place? Ridiculous I know, but there you go.

Just realised your subject refers to iPlayer. So are we talking about the live and 'listen again' radio RealPlayer streams from the BBC's radio web pages, or flash content on www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer?

Well, actually... BOTH.

I have tried both options...

BBC's own player and the standalone real audio player both give same result.

But both work fine if I use my laptop!
