Debranded to Euro1 and BBC Iplayer stops working - Linked?

I've had an N95 8Gb on contact with Orange for about 2 years and used Iplayer on the handset (via home wi-fi) without issue. My contract is up for renewal and I have switched to 3 sim only deal.

As well as getting my phone unlocked (to use the 3 sim) I have recently unbranded the phone to EURO1 (product ID: 0549487) and upgraded the firmware. This worked and I noticed one or two new applications appearing - all fine so far.

However on trying to load BBC IPlayer I now keep getting the message "Connection error: General: System Error" and the application no longer seems to be loading the application interface (I guess over the network). I know that the BBC Iplayer is only available in the UK so would I be right in assuming that it's not happy with the EURO1 product code on the phone.

Has anyone changed the product code and still got Iplayer to work?

As a last resort I could flash it back to 3 UK branding and my assumption is all would be OK. But just wanted to see if I was thinking correctly?

bbc, debrand, debranded, euro1, iplayer, linked, product code, stops, working
