Screen goes white/negative.

Hey all,

My n95 8gb's screen recently started misbehaving, colours were inverted and became like a negative so I had it replaced. However the screen now just randomly goes white for no reason what so ever, and I am at a loss as to what to do to it. What can I do to repair it, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Smile Software Reset

Probably your phone needs a hard reset . Be aware to make a backup , to keep your personal data :

Also read this thread about saving phone memory , similar for N95 :

video cable

It sounds like the video cable is not seated properly, if the cable is re-seated and you still have an issue then look to the display and after that logic board.

Definitely a software issue, after I reflashed the phone using the PC suite the screen works. What could be causing this?

I assumed you may have had a loose cable as your display had been replaced. If flashing the phone has fixed it and you do not have any more issues then I would be very happy if the issues keep happening then first look to re-seat the video cable.

bugger

If you are certain the display and its cable are ok then the next step is to re-flash the firmware and try a different sim in the slot in the sim is causing it. It is a long shot but I do not think you have any other choice.

Someone who knows more about phones is needed here.

White Screen

I noticed in one of the N97 forum posts someone mentioned a faulty / full memory card as being responsible for a white screen. Perhaps you can get it working temporarily and back up anything of importance from memory then erase it.

I could not find the link again but perhaps someone else can give further assistance.
