E90 Wired Boom Headset

Is anyone using a wired boom headset with an E90.

If so, which one - and is it via an adaptor or "native"

TIA

No answer - sorry. But I have been interested in this, too, and it seems that everything on the market is BlueTooth these days. Don't know what your motivation is but mine was to avoid having BT on all the time and recharging a headset - so that I can leave the E90 on the charger and just take calls - even better would be to switch automatically to music while there's no call. I'm sure the 2nd bit would work fine if it was a Nokia accessory, but I can't find any!

It's a bit like lanyard loops - I can't be the only person who finds that the most convenient way to carry a phone.

I'd like a proper Nokia car cradle as well - like the Nokia MBC holders that let you leave the power and headset in all the time and just clip the phone in and out.

Surely not too much to ask for a flagship device.

I've ordered a blutooth visor unit (many peole have pointed me in this direction) but I'll carry on looking for a wired headset.

With a separate blutooth satnav reciever, it's yet more items to charge.

Why have you got a separate GPS receiver? And what's a Visor Unit? I think an E90 hanging round the neck's a bit like a millstone, innit?!

Tim

Edit: I see what you mean with a Visor Unit now.

I've ordered the separate GPS to give me faster and more reliable fixes.

This is based on reading of everything I can about satnav rather than any personal experience.

Having said that, I have no benchmark to compare aquisition performance anyway (but I did have a 10 voucher with Expansys )

This morning (just trialling Nokia maps with navigation as I knew where I was going !) it seemed to take 3-4 minutes to get a fix. I understand that a Sirfstar based unit will do this in under a minute.

I would be quite happy with it hanging round my neck, it beats dropping it on the floor. Personally, I find belt mounted pouches a pain as I keep bashing the unit on desks/walls/doors.

I always carried my E70 on a lanyard (even though I had to drill the battery cover to do it). I know that you can fit a lanyard to the E90 through the hinges but it looked like over time it might pull the hinges out so I haven't done that.

Oh I see. Well, I don't have the E90 with me today, rather the N95 8GB but I just tried it and got a lock in under 30 seconds with that. I think the A-GPS is basically the same software in both. Anyway, it'll be interesting for you to see if it's any better in practice. Also depends on where you are, of course! And you really do have to use those eXpansys vouchers!

On carrying phones, I'm happy with the E90 or pretty much any phone in my front jeans pocket - but then I am quite a big bloke with big jeans! The 9210i challenged the pockets a bit, but the E90 is nicely trimmed down!
