[Update] Traffic-i version 1.02 released

I received the following email from their support department:

We are pleased to announce the availability of Traffic-i v1.02. This
version is a minor upgrade that is available free of charge from the
Traffic-i web site. www.traffic-i.com

The following enhancements have been made in v1.02:

* The map coverage has been enhanced to cover additional roads.

The following bug fixes have been made in v1.02:

* Changing the Connection Type preference to 'Polling' would incorrectly
start the connection to connect after the 'Poll Every' time period had
expired.

* Zooming out and back in with the jog dial would zoom in to the centre of
the UK as opposed to the place just zoomed out from.

* The zoom out button on the toolbar could not be used to turn the zoom
grid off when displaying the map at overview level.

* Changing the show delay preference, from the preference dialogue rather
than the menu, would not take effect until the user scrolled the screen or
the delays were updated from the server.

Should you have any queries regarding the upgrade or the contents of this
email please contact us at support@traffic.com

It's nice that the problem with zooming out and back in with the jog dial has been fixed. It used to annoy me that it zoomed into Manchester all the time.

Also the additon of some roads in North Wales is great - will help on the old bank holiday trips to Colwyn Bay.

My view of Traffic-i

This has got to be one of the best applications for the P800, it makes my commute down the M6 much easier. Well as easy as commuting down the M6 gets !!

Have to agree its almost flawless

four things Id like to see

1/ It wont install on my D: drive and when I move it myself it dosnt work
2/Speed cameras they know where they are.... Id like to
3/More than 5 fav's cant see the point in this limit?
4/The most unlikley but the most usefull - a tie in with minigps to move with you as you drive..

Memory Stick

I spoke to their support team about installing it on D: , and they gave me an installation version that would install to D: but they said due to the speed of memory stick it'll take a long time to initially load.

And they were right so i've gone back to the C: drive.

i can't get traffic-i to actually initiate the connection - it works fine when I have a gprs connection running already, but it can't connect on its own.

Does anyone else have this problem? I was expecting to have to chose a default internet connection as well in the preferences box - but there isn't an option for it....

I use Traffic-i and it will initiate a connection no problem. It uses whatever was last used by mail, opera, etc.

I have a similar problem... installed, got several error messages... won't connect... and won't let anything else connect (Opera, email). Uninstalled, still couldn't connect to anything... had to do a Master Reset and Restore. Bummer.

Traffic-i - Saves so much time

I live in Manchester, and there was a massive accident the other day on one of the motorways, which resulted in huge tailbacks.

Luckily I had Traffic-i and spotted the jam and managed to avoid it, saved me at least 3 hours of being stuck in traffic... Paid for itself in one go !!

What we need is a combination of Traffic i and this;

http://www.originbluei.com/

It must be possible to port the data in Blue i into the Traffic i software so that the cameras pop up as icons. Accuracy wouldn't be much cop but at least you'd know one was on the road in front of you.
