Not forgetting the significant reduction in size/weight.
Just HOW bad is the battery?, that's the make or break issue on this device!!

I would foresee the performance and battery life will go up significantly when the code has matured. You're now looking at early versions.

Let's keep the battery and other performance issues until it is stable.

Does anyone know if the built-in GPS in the N95 can be used with external devices over Bluetooth, for example using the N95 as a GPS device with mapping software running on a Nokia 770?

Cool

OK GUYS, VIDEO BASICALLY SHOULDNT BE BETTER ON N95
THE OPTICS ARE BETTER ON N93 AS WELL AS MACRO AND ZOOM
damn, sry caps

n93: video Zoom: (optical / digital) 3x / up to 8x
photo: Exposure compensation: +1 ~ -1EV at 0.5 step || Focal length 4.5 mm (Wide) /12.4 mm (Tele) 34.25 - 94.1 mm(35mm equiv.)
more: http://www.nseries.com/nseries/v2/me...=en&country=US "see new"

n93: video Zoom: Digital up to 10x (VGA up to 4x)
photo: Exposure compensation: +2 ~ -2EV at 0.5 step|| Focal length 5.6 mm
more: http://www.nseries.com/nseries/v2/media/product/tech_specs/en-US/tech_specs_n95_en_US.html?lang=en&country=US#2"see new"

or am i wrong about video zoom?
also, n95 and n93 have the same proccessors, n95 has more RAM which IS really (64 Mb, i think) the only thing that sux is that 2gb memmory cards are too small, i mean, like for me 4 gb would be perfect

n93 and n95 have the same screen resolution so since n95's screen is larger, does image change any worse?

i also really like n95's menu in horizoontal mode-really niice

although iunno wat to buy, i like n93's design better, and video is very important for me. if n93i going to support 4gb minisd-HD im pretty sure ill buy it, although its not that good on front panel
im gonna get a phone approximately on january 5th-10th

mgoodson45 , i understand that u have ur "ways" of getting that phone(its not in the stores yet, so obviously...)
can u find any sort of info on n93i by any chance? that would be great

btw if uve seen pictures taken by n93, can u compare them to n95's and comment on them .
thx a lot

p.s.: its been mentioned that n93i gonna record movies in "dvd" , not "dvd-like" quality

later

yes... how about this youtube?

Also... I know a lot of people want to know (but haven't asked for some reason yet?)- how long does it take to get off a shot? I'm asking both how long does it take for the camera application to "ready up" and about the shutter lag- is it as snappy as we hope, or since it's a 5mp- is it worse than some of these horrible 3mp phone cams?

Thanks for answering our questions. I'm sure we all appreciate it very much. It would be nice to know if the n95 can view youtube videos as well!

Wait! Just read in a previous post from you- in the readout for the benchmarks... bluetooth 1.0? It does have 2.0, correct?

thanks mgoodson!

I've just read from a few sources that the n95 has a mechanical shutter.

1/1000th of a second lag. Can you confirm this and youtube?

I was away for sometime... There is a few pictures that I'd like to share, but the website doesn't allow 900+kb attachment.
Any idea? don't have/use flickr....

YouTube.com doesn't work, it require flash plug-ins. I'm not aware of any flash plug-ins for symbian browsers at the moment.

Video recording doesn't work well at the moment, no sound.

Picture quality is good, but not the best.

Reminder: This is an early software, current result does not indicate the end result.

Any idea if Nokia will allow the internal GPS to be used with external mapping/navigation devices over Bluetooth?

Or maybe the current software makes it impossible to tell at this stage.
