Speed Cameras n95 gps

I have been crawling the net looking for an app that will alert me to speed cameras on my n95 using the internal GPS

Does anyone know if such an app exists..I was hoping to be able to add the cameras as POI to Route66 but it doesnt look as the mobile version supports this....

No Doubt TomTom will in its new version but that is still a while away as far as I have read.....

Better idea: on the dashboard of your car you will see a prominent meter. Types vary, but it will be graduated from 0 up to 100 or so. Whilst driving, you will encounter prominent circular signs displaying a number. The idea - and this is what many people appear to find tricky - is to ensure the number on the dial doesn't exceed the number on the most recent sign you passed.

That's brilliant! You should patent it!

Where can I buy one of these meters? Money's no object - send me one right away!

The good news is that if you have a car, you already have the required meter and do not have to pay any more.

Neil's method is good for two reasons

1) It's 100% reliable and
2) Whilst knowing the location of speed cameras may assist in some ways I've found it's of no help at all when minimising the risk of crashing into other vehicles or pedestrians.

Its like saying why do you need POI on maps....you should do your research before you go anywhere......

Get off your high horse and give the guy advice or STFU. This is a forum about the N95, not a moral debate.

winker, Route66 supports the importing of 'points of interest' (POI) and there are several places online you can get an up to date list of current speed cameras in the correct format for it.

Hey neilhoskins

Thanks for the reply!!! Thought I was in for battling the jokers all day long...

Are you saying Route66 for Symbian S60v3

I have looked all over and I can only find it talking about adding custom POI to satnav systems and route66 for PDA etc etc..

a link would be gr8 if you have one...

Idiots. The guy wanted advice not a f*cking lecture from you guys.

Have a look over at www.pocketgpsworld.com and check whether they supply the camera database for mobile phone GPS applications.

I can definitely recommend pocketgpsworld for speed cameras. I use them for Tomtom on my N95.

On PocketGpsWorld it states

one person has got there system working on a Windows Mobile Based Smartphone but nothing about symbian so that rules out N95 until someone tells me other wise....
