Need Help with my N95 on Vodafone SIM Card

Hi, guys, I need a little bit help here please. Here is the problem:

I bought my N95 from ebay 1 month ago. It was locked on Vodafone at the time of purchase and the seller sold it because he didn't like it. Once it arrived, I unlocked the phone from a local shop. And I use my Vodafone Pay Monthly SIM card on it.

Everything worked fine till yesterday when the phone suddenly lost the network signal (meaning that I can't make or receive calls, can't send texts). So I took out the card and installed it on my old Nokia 6300 which works fine. At that point of time, I thought that the seller, whom I bought the item from, might have report the N95 mobile stolen. However, strangely, I tried my N95 with my friend's 3 SIM card and it works (meaning I can make or receive calls with my N95 on 3).

I have no idea about UK's stolen mobile regulations. If a mobile is reported as stolen, is it unusable only to a certain network or for the whole UK's networks? Thanks a lot.

UPDATE: the network signal is now fluctuating, sometimes low, sometimes high. But still can't make or receive any calls with Vodafone SIM card, but ok with 3.

I think the way it works is that if a Vodafone mobile is reported to Vodafone as stolen, Vodafone will block the IMEI on their network and notify the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) held by the GSM Assocaition. The other UK networks will then get this IMEI and bar it from their networks.

Ring Vodafone and ask, you only have 45 days to lodge a Paypal dispute.

Sounds like the classic case of Insurance fraud, where someone sells a phone they have reported stolen after they have received the replacement at the insurance costs.

It will be blocked on all UK netowrks except 3.

It will however, work overseas, but for how long is anyones guess.
