Unhappy heeeeelp, tom tom mobile and n80

hey everyone, im new to this game so excuse any naivety,

i recently bought an n80, and have downloaded some tomtom6 mobile software, and unzipped it and installed it onto the phone using nokia pc suite.

all seemed to go well but when i load it from the "my own" section, it just loads the tomtom logo with the spinning hands,

could someone please help me to sort this, and if its the software could someone please recommend another website to download a better version from.

thank you very much in advance.
Adam

from what i remmeber tomtom doesn't need installing from pc suite. just copy the files onto the memory card (conenct as a mass storage device), and then reboot hte phone, it should automatically instal it on booting.

All the folders just need to be copied to the root of the memory card, e.g. if hte memory card is f: then you'll have a f:/tomtom, f:/voices, f:/system (this is where the phone looks for new applications and you won't see this folder as it's hidden) and all the rest of them.

as for maps, surely there were some with the tomtom you downloaded?

Question

hey,
i tried what you mentioned aboe, and it worked to a certain extent,
it firstly asked me to set some stuff, like language voice etc.
once i did this i get the message "No maps found!". any help on this matter, with a link to some free maps and how to add them would be greatly appreciated (phone is nokia n80, with tomtom mobile 6, if you need to know that)
thanks very much
adam

You have to get cracked version of TomTom 6 and download maps. Do a google search and you should be able to find them.

maps are just folders in the root of hte memory drive, for example f:/greatbritain, or more importantnly f:/guam. I remember i needded to activate the guam map before i was able to activate the great britain map. They're big in size so can't really e-mail them, but you should be able to find a torrent for them. (or download a tomtom torrent with the maps already included (should be around 300mb with uk map, or 900mb with europe).
