Exclamation Always look on the bright side of Symbian...???

Hey. Great site. I used it regularly when I first got my 9210.

But, I got a problem. A BIG Problem!

The 9210 is booting on the Phone side, but not the Communicator side.
It started today sometime, shortly after storing a new contact in to the contacts database. I left the contacts screen to the desktop, then back to the contacts screen & did a search. I noticed that it wasn't searching for contacts via the usual keywords.
So I did a software system reset. Next, after pressing the Contacts button, the Communicator said, "Contacts Database Corrupted! Start new Database?" (or similar). Of course I said no. So I did some searching and the contacts.cdb was still where it should be, but I couldn't copy it anywhere.
I tried the above a few times, with different permutations, with the same result.

A-ha!!!??! Maybe removing the battery? That'll fix it for sure!
No kidding did it fix it!!! It fixed it REAL good! Now the phone side of the 9210 boots, but the Communicator side stays on the Nokia Handshakes screen & has been ever since...
But not only that... Even though the phone side works, there's no keypad beeps, or rings when a call comes in...

This is bad! All my data. All my contacts were in the Communicator Memory, not the MMC card, but now I can't boot the Communicator past the startup screen to retrieve the data, AND of course I haven't done a backup for MONTHS!

I did crack the front LCD on NYE this year, but most of the display is still visible. I doubt the two are directly related, as it's been nearly 4 months since that occurred without the slightest signs of problems.
I also tried removing the MMC card & doing a battery reset. Whilst most of the software is installed on the MMC, the Communicator should still work even without the MMC card installed. But this didn't change anything. Still stuck on the Nokia Hands opening screen.
The final test was (and I guessed that it wouldn't work) to connect the PC<>9210 data cable & run the PC Communicator Suite, but as the Communicator doesn't boot past the Nokia Handshakes screen, the Communicator cannot initialise to transfer data.

Crap!

Help?

Mi.
