Checking on-line here:-

http://europe.nokia.com/support/down...e/can-i-update

it says:-

"Latest available software for Nokia N97, product code 0587665
Version: 21.0.045 "

That's the latest firmware version for a T-Mobile branded phone (and is the latest firmware version overall).

However, to update to this, you will probably need to do it via NSU on your laptop as I do not believe it is available OTA.

whats the atest OTA version?

my nokia suite wont let me update due to not enough ram.. my laptop has 248 and it needs 256 even tho i doubt very very much it uses every single bit of ram to update the bloody thing

*#0000~ on dial pad then Options then"Check for updates" will tell you if there are any OTA updates available.

You can run NSU on 256MB of RAM. Just make sure all other programmes and app's running on your laptop are closed and start just NSU from All Programs and not PC Suite. I'm assuming that you haven't installed anything on the phone yet that you'd want to back up or couldn't re-install.

you dont get what i mean.. I need the settings to set up OTA updates.. It wont even let me search as i need the settings to make an access point.

As for my laptop... It dusnt have the required 256... It has 248 hence why i cant update that way.

You mean to say that you have not got the Virgin operator settings installed?

You connect by using Virgin's 3G which will be called Virgin web or some such. Unless, of course, T-Mobile have disabled this on their branded firmware. In any case, I feel it highly unlikely that v11 to v20 firmware upgrade would be available OTA.

Right, OK, I see.

If you navigate Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Destinations do you have any Access points in Internet and have you selected Internet as your default connection in Options?

You also need to have Update Server settings programmed into your device. These can be operator-specific settings (contact your operator for help), or standard Nokia settings as shown below:

Key *#0000# into your phone's home screen or go to Device manager (consult your user guide if necessary).

Select Options > Server profiles > Options > New server profile > Copy = No
Server Name Nokia
Server ID Nokia
Server password firmupservpass
Access point [select your preferred AP]
Host address https://dms.update.nokia.com/dms/omadm
Port 443
User name nokiams
DM password nokiamspass
Allow configuration Yes
Auto accept all requests Yes
