Apps only thread

Just thought Id start a useful thread about apps. I know theres some already, but Id like to have a decent one that doesnt tail off into discussion about apps.

So, could people please do the following:

Post a useful app with -

Link

What it does, as good as description as possible so it saves people asking.

Is it free/payware etc.

And not to post unless its got the above in it. If you want to ask a question about an app, make another thread and ask. That way a really useful thread could be made without the scattered bits of info as is the case now. And perhaps it could be stickied.

My apps -

Screenshot. http://www.antonypranata.com/screenshot/

Takes screen grabs of exactly whats on the screen and saves it to a location of your choice. Can change various settings such as size and filetype of the picture.

Totally free.

Stris. http://www.elementsgames.com/stris/

Basically tetris for the S60 platform.

Free.

Nice idea!

These applications have earned a permanent place on my N95:

Navicore

Full-featured navigation program. Supports points of interest (including your own) and the N95's internal GPS receiver. See bartmanekul's review of a range of satnav applications in another thread.

www.navicoretech.com (commercial software)

Agile Messenger

Instant messaging client. Supports AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ and Google.

www.agilemessenger.com (commercial with free trial)

Handy Safe

Holds information like credit card numbers, login details and passwords. Comes with a PC version so you can sync between mobile and desktop.

www.epocware.com (commercial with free trial)

Opera

Internet browser. More powerful than the N95's browser, although the two don't coexist very happily.

www.opera.com (commercial, with various free options)

Mobireader

An e-book reader. Dictionaries, novels and reference works are available in Mobipocket format, and you can use a free PC application to create your own e-books.

www.mobipocket.com (reader is free, e-books are free or commercial)

A-Z Maps

Reproduces the famous London A-Z paper maps. Has no sat-nav features (yet), but sometimes a paper map is best. Also available for Birmingham and (large-scale) Britain.

www.lumisoft.net (commercial with free trial)

Y-Browser

File browser and reader for S60. Essential for messing about in the N95's innards.

www.drjukka.com (free)

Handy Weather

Five-day weather forecaster. Cuts down on data charges by only downloading information on the cities you need. Lets you define your own locations.

www.epocware.com (commercial with free trial)

Nokia Sports Tracker

Lets you record your GPS position in a track, and then export it to Google Earth (among other things).

research.nokia.com/research/projects/SportsTracker/index.html (free)

DivX Player

Plays avi files encoded with DivX. Good for short clips, but film-length files tend to get out of sync (assuming you don't go blind first).

mobile.divx.com (free, but you have to register and the beta versions expire)

MetrO

A text-based route planner for public transport systems around the world. Offers information on tourist sights, night buses and more.

nanika.net/Metro/ (free)

Collins Dictionaries

Solid English to French, German and Spanish translation guides, with extra features like a verb conjugator.

Available from the AAS software store (commercial with free trial)

Solun'-u

Java midlet that plots a map of the night sky. Small screen limits its usefulness, but it's handy if you want to know where Uranus is.

www.piecafe.co.uk/solun/usolun.htm (free)

Putty

An SSH client for S60. Handy for when you want to reconfigure your server with only a phone.

s2putty.sourceforge.net (free)

Google Maps

Wow! That's my house! And there's the Eiffel tower! A mobile version of the Google Maps.

www.google.com/gmm (free)
